Any excuse to Party....

I know that polynesians try to find any excuse to have a party... We had a BBQ at my mom's house last night for Pioneer day. We had a lot of fun, really good food and cool fireworks (thanks to Uncle Scotty!). I must admit that I really didn't do much yesterday to honor my ancestors that came to Utah as pioneers. But I will say I did have a good time last night.

I'm so sick of being sick!!!

So I got diagnosed with a raging sinus infection on thursday. I figured I'd be good because it was two full days of antibiotics before I had a full saturday. Thursday was awful! Friday was even worse. My sinuses felt like they weren't going to make my teeth explode out of my mouth, but then my lower back was hurting and the fever would not go away. I am writing write now at 4:20 am. I went to Harry Potter Saturday morning. (They did a great job by the way. I like this director MUCH better then Chris Columbus) I felt pretty good. I had a good sweat Friday night and was on my antibiotics and lots of Ibuprofen. I thought I had turned the corner. However I didn't feel 100 % better so I called the pharmacist. I asked him how long I should wait with my antibiotics before I call the MD again. He said wait until monday.

After Harry Potter we went to Target, got a couple of pressies for my dear friend Briana's Bridal shower and headed to another friends baby's 1st birthday luau. At the end of the party, around 3:30 I started to crash. I told Matt I had to get home and get some rest before Briana's shower. I crashed HARD! So hard that when I got up at 6:15 I still didn't think I was going to make it. I took more meds and went upstairs. I asked Matt for a blessing. He gave me one and I was fine throughout the shower. Well, I was o.k. I was sweating like a pig and felt like everybody could see on my face that I was miserable. I hate that feeling. Saturday night I did o.k. Sunday morning I still was not feeling even 60% so I stayed home. Again I sweated a ton and only got the chills once, and they weren't bad at all compared to what I had had before. I was o.k. to go to my mom's and then we came home. I didn't not start dozing for bed until after 1 this morning and now I am up with the chills and my throat so sore and my sinuses so plugged it's making me gag. (Sorry if that is TMI). My eyes are all red and goopey. Luckily the MD gave Kaiwa eye drops that she didn't need. I feel like I am being tortured.

Anybody know of any remedies to get rid of congestion. I have nasonex... NOT WORKING! I did the Vicks thing... all that did was make it run a tiny bit and then burn. When I blow my nose nothing comes out. I want to curl up and just die right now. I think I am going to call my neighbor down the street and see if one of her kids wants to babysit Kaiwa so I can get a good rest later today. I also am calling my Md's office as soon as it turns 8am this morning. I need to get in there. I have to get rid of this. I have Briana's wedding on Saturday, and then I am SUPPOSEDLY leaving next week for Hawaii. It doesn't look very good because the two projects I am supposed to have done before I go aren't being worked on. I guess it's a sign that I shouldn't go until Matt does. Oh well.

Sorry this is such a pity party for myself. Like I said if anybody know of any remedies. I am thinking of getting a Neti pot but the thought of it is making me gag. I really want to be able to taste my food again; have something in my stomache other then crackers Meds and water/soda and gross drainage; and I want some decent sleep; AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO BREATHE! Thanks for listening to me rant. CassiLu

What a CrAzY last few weeks.

Let's see it actually started on the 29th of June. Matt and I went with the kids up to Isopea. The Hawaiian Civic Club was having their annual camp out there. We had a ton of fun. We got there late friday night and were up early satruday morning. The kids played out in the sun all day and they got really burned. We ate Shave Ice all day and played. Then we went to my mom's. We spent the weekend and the next few days there.

On July 2nd we took Kekoa to Transformers. Can I just tell you that I had SO MUCH FUN! There was one part I wished Kekoa hadn't seen, but other then that the movie is AWESOME!!! Matt and I were there with my MIL, my BIL's Mario and Marc, Mario's wife Meg one of Marc friends and a friend of ours, Benny. We had a great time. My BUL Marc has seen the movie probably 5 times by now. I really want to see it again.

On the 4th of July we went up to Centerville to help Matt's sister, Leilani, with her Shave Ice booth. From the moment we opened (before 10am which is when we were SUPPOSED to start) until 4 (an hour AFTER we were supposed to end) we were going mad crazy. We constantly had a line. It was fun and we did well, I think.

After that we headed back down here to Provo. Then on Saturday we went to our dear friends, Ammon and Monica's, wedding reception. Oh wait!!! Back up! Thursday night/Friday morning Kalena started getting warm. No big, she was still eating and wasn't complaining of anything hurting too much and no puking! Then Friday night Kekoa started warm. Two kids sick. Then on the way up tot he wedding Ka'iwa started getting warm. By the time the reception had started I had three very warm and lethargic kids. Ka'iwa just sat there, and if you know my Ka'iwa that is SO not her. So my MIL, BIL and SIL basically all ganged up on me and told me I had to take the kids in to InstaCare. Luckily there was a KidsCare in Sugarhouse! The MD there was very good... Diagnosis: all three had STREP. OH NO! It's saturday night and my two oldest kids were supposed to be leaving on TUESDAY for Hawaii.

So we hop in the car and drive acorss the street to Wallgreens. It took forever! It was 10:30 at night and you could tell that all the people that went to the emergency room or an Instacare were filling their perscriptions.

So sunday we did not go to church. My Kekoa informed his Aunty Meg that he couldn't go to church and that they 'really didn't go to church anymore." WHAT THE HECK! Kay so I know we have slacked a little this summer, but we DO go to church. Kekoa's reasoning was that 'well we are going to be going to Hawaii and we won't be going to church there.' WRONG. Oh! Let's add to the joy, Kalena waked up with PINK EYE! I call the KidsCare and ask if they need me to bring Kalena in. They said no and just called in a prescription. Thank Heavens.

Well we spent Saturday - Teusday at Meg and Marios. Monday all of the kids were feeling a little better and were no longer contaigeous so we went running errands. Kalena needed an outfit for for the plane and Kekoa needed work boots so he can help his Papa in Hawaii. We headed over to Sandy so the kids could say good-bye to Tutu Heather. They got fun treats for the plane.

Teusday morning my kids and I had to be up around 4 to be at the airport by 5. Luckily Meg and Mario live literally 10 minutes away from the airport. It took Kekoa forever to take his meds that morning. We got there right at 5am. The kids didn't get on the first plane out to San Fran but they got on a later flight. Then they couldn't get out of Frisco so they spent the night in the airport. My mil said the kids were champs and that because they behaved so well that they were doted on by everybody. I'm glad that they behave when I'm not around, because I sure as heck can't get them to do that with me around! JEEZ!

Yesterday Matt took me and Kaiwa out to Tucanos for dinner. We were celebrating him passing his Statistics class. (That is a whole other post for later. That class SUCKED BOOGERS).

TODAY: Bad news! I had started getting a sore throat yesterday. I was stressing because my dear friend, Briana Hallstrom, who happens to be my BFF Kara's little sister, is getting married next week. Oh my heck! Well Bri is having her Bridal shower this weekend and I really want to go. However my sweet cousin Meghan will be there with her little girl McKinlay. If I had strep there is no way I would subject her to that. Even thought they say you aren't contageous after 24 hours I still would feel bad. Well, guess what? I DON'T HAVE STREP!!! YEAH!! I have a raging sinus infection, but the MD said I am not contageous unless I hock a huge loogey on somebody. Anyway... That has been my last few weeks. Sorry there aren't any pics with this, but I promise soon I will have some.

It looks like Ka'iwa and I will be leaving for Hawaii soon, too. Matt is going to let me go early. Ka'iwa, Matt and I were all supposed to go together on the 9th but I'm thinking Ka'iwa and I will be going around the 25th.

We have lots of things still going on: my friends Bri's shower/wedding, the 24th of July, going to Hawaii, Our fun suprise in Hawaii and our friends Keola and Aisha's wedding. (Now THAT is going to be an AWESOME wedding on Maui). So look for more updates. I promise I will be better.

Alohas! Cassi
