Deep thoughts, by Cassi Palmer

Kekoa is dong really well in Flag Football. He has run for quite a few first downs and has run in for 2 touchdowns now. Kalena is liking soccer. She has scored two goals. Matt's flag football team ended up 8 wins 1 loss going into the tournament. I think it'd be really cool if they took fist place this year. They took second place about 5 years ago. It was a lot of fun. Things at work contine to be a little trying but I think it will work out in the end.

The reason I titled this 'Deep Thoughts' is because I am in the middle of reading 'Kite Runner.' I asked a whole bunch of people for reccomendations for books for my trip with my brother Tau last year. My brother Alema told me about this book. I wanted to read it a year ago when I went to, but instead I ended up reading 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. I LOVED IT and couldn't put it down. 'Kite Runner' on the other hand I have had to put down a couple of times. It is a heart wrenching story, and yet it is so beautiful. I am only half way done and I want to finish it quickly. With kids at home and not much down time at work I don't know how quickly that will come.... This book has made me think of a dear friend who is part Pakistani. It also has made me think about my realtionship with my parents and my children. It makes me wonder what my children will take from me and bring to their own lives in the future. Oh boy! I hope my children take good things not only from me but also from their culture. In 'Kite Runner' you learn about the pride that is in the people of this book. You learn about traditions and things that they take with them through there lives. I have begun to evaluate what I have taken from my parents, peers, friends and children that I hope to incorporate more in my life. One thing I hope to leave on this world in my love an compassion for so many people. I love ya!
