Lots of fun pictures

medium_01-28-07_020.jpgYou can check out my blog for my family: harringtonohana.blogspot.com. But here are some more pictures of my family from this weekend and my kids. medium_2007_0128Image0003.JPGThe Palmer/Harrington family has 7 birthdays to celebrate in January. Starting with Kalena (4th) , then we have my mephew Durant (10th), Mom/Tutu Heather/Nana (15th), then add in Matt's Brother Martin (19th), Tau and Alema (26th), and Last but certainly not least Isabella. Oh! medium_2007_0128Image0017.JPGAnd not to mention then we have Ka'iwa in February and not to mention that Brianna's birthday is on DECEMBER 29th. We get no rest until April from Holidays and Birthdays. Lots of fun!! medium_01-28-07_026.jpgmedium_01-28-07_032.jpgWe had a fun shin-dig at mom's house celebrating Alema, Tau and Isabella. I keep pleading with my brothers to come help mom clean out her basement so we can throw the kids down stairs. Maybe it will happen this spring. medium_01-28-07_025.jpg

Kalena is Princess for the Day!

medium_Kalnea_2007.jpg I have a little girl that took the term "Princess for the day" and made the very most of it. Kalena had her super birthday last week. She turned 4 on January 4, 2007. The night before her beirthday Tutu Kawai and Papa Errol took her out shopping with them, and she came back with her own tiara that said "Princess for the day." The day of her birthday Kalena got up and was about while I was getting ready for work around 6:45 am. medium_kalena_2007_II.jpg This is the girl who usually sleeps in until at least 9:30. She was so excited that it was her birthday. She got some pretty awesome presents from Tutu Kawai and Papa gave her a Tea Set and a Karaoke machine. Tutu Heather gaver her some fun books and an AWESOME Fairy outfit, complete with wings. And Mommy and Daddy gave her Bella Dancerella Ballet with a leotard/tutu, tights and ballet slippers. Unfortunately the weather was yucky so Uncle Mario, Aunty Meg and Aunty Leilani couldn't make it, but we know they tried. Kalena comissioned her birthday cake from Tutu Kawai. I think it turned out pretty awesome.

Reality hits.....

I was out with my family tonight. Matt and I took the kids to see Night at the Museum. Pretty awesome movie. I really enjoyed it and so did the kids. Well, Kekoa and Ka'iwa did, Kalena fell asleep right after the opening credits. I think that had something to do with the fact that we weren't watching "Charlotte's Web." Well like I said we all really enjoyed the movie and came home on a pretty big high and then.....

medium_JEnben.jpgAs Matt and I were making dinner for the kids a story on the Channel 4 news came on about a Christmas Eve Bride who died on her wedding night. I saw the picture and thought the face was familiar and then when they had a comment by her mom I realized who it was... Her name is Jennifer Bennet Goodall. I knew her as 'Jen-Ben'. I met her in one of the darkest times of my life. I met her in rehab. Jen was a true example of me of true grit. I had seen her live a sober life and make it look appealing. Now there is a rule in Life-Line about not getting "clickey" with anybody. I must say that I broke that rule with Jen. She was a dear friend that I am sorry to say I lost touch with when I signed out of Life Line. However I must say that if it weren't for her I don't think I would be in the position of my life today that I am. Jen called me out on my crap when I was being dishonest in treatment. She is the one who called on my crap when I was about to sign out of Life-Line. She looked me straight in the eye and told me I was full of it. I was. Jen was an amazing girl. I am so sorry to hear of her loss. Jen was pretty awesome. She touched my life and I am so much the better for it.

P.S. Sorry for the downer. I promise to write about christmas and how much fun we had in the next day. Cassi-Lou
