Halloween!!

medium_DSCF0378.JPGYes!! I actually did shave my sons head just for halloween.medium_DSCF0380.JPG But you must admit, that he was a pretty authentic looking Ang, the Avatar. Kalena was a cheetah, Kaiwa was a BYU football player, muscles and all, and Matt was Bruce Lee. I was a football player earlier in the day, at school, but Miss Kaiwa took over my costume.

We had a really fun day. Kekoa was able to wear his costume to school and he got to walk in his school's Halloween parade. Then I got to go to his class and help with his class party.

Kekoa and I went home and got the girls ready. We then all loaded up into the car and went down to Daddy's work to show off to Daddy's co-workers and then get the really good stuff. Daddy's boss, Hal Wing, gives out KING SIZE candy bars. Not only to the cute little trick - or - treaters, but also to the Mommy's too! JACK POT!! I got a King Size Hershy's Special Dark, MY FAVORITE!! Heaven!! The kids each got their own Kings Size bars and we headed over to the church.

medium_DSCF0395.JPGTrunk or Treat has been a sad disaster the last three years running. We have had a really small ward that doesn't get very motivated. However this past summer we had our ward boundaries moved and it infused our ward with some new spirit. Most of the ward showed up for Trunk or Treat this year. medium_DSCF0388.JPGIt was pretty awesome. We ate Hot Dogs and Carots and Chips and froze our little patooties off. It was FREEZING outside. We made our rounds to all of the Trunks in the parking lot and came a way with a huge stash. The kids were actually ready to go home after that. That was pretty nice. We then went up to our friends home, the Stones (see pics from West Fest). We got to stock up on some great stuff up there like Lizard Lips and bubbles!! Yeah. Once we got home we were all pooped. We all hoped into bed and crashed. I think Trick - or - Treating is more fun now then when I was a kid. Allthough, I'm not too sure about having to deal with my kids on a sugar high. I am glad that my kids didn't get any more candy.

I have to brag for a minute!

Last night Matt and I took the kids to Onion Days down in Payson. My sister-in-law, Leilani, goes to various fairs during the summer and sets up a Hawaiian Shave Ice booth. This year we helped her at West Fest in West Valley and Fourth of July in Centerville. We won't be working but Payson is that last for the summer.

Anway... that's beside the point. The first night of Onion days they have a 1 ticket per ride special. Those of you that know about carnivals, that's a steal. Before we got there I told the kids that Mommy didn't have a lot of money so they could only ride 3 rides a piece. Didn't seem to have a problem when I explained it. Cool!

We got down to Payson, dropped off the things my mother-in-law requested we bring down for her and then headed off to the rides. After a quick walk around to size up the situation the kids decided which three rides they wanted to go on. First was the Jeep ride. Next was the Ducks and last, was the grand finale, the Dragon Rollercoaster! Oh my!

My reason for bragging. My kids were awesome about not whining when rides were over. It was so nice! They were prepped for only three rides and they were OK with it. I am so proud of them for listening and being good.

So that's my brag of the day! I think I need to make a point to brag more about my kids. Then I will stop focusing on the bad things and more on the good things. Yeah!

Ah hem!

I have an announcement!

KEKOA HAS LOST THIS FIRST TOOTH!! The lower right to be exact!

(I have a picture of his toothless mouth... I just have to change the batteries on my camera so those are to come.) It started to get wiggley on Monday when we were eating Corn on the Cob at his Tutu Heather's house. I think the Tooth Fairy even came to visit him. ;) Anway... my little boy is not so little now. He starts FIRST grade this year! Hooray for all-day school! Personally I think half day Kindergarden is a bunch of baloney! But oh well. We are over that hurdle and on to all day! YEAH!!! Anyway... that's the update on Kekoa. Now... FETCHING!

medium_summer06cover.jpg
I remember using the word "fetching" in High School. As in "that's so fetching cool!" Oh boy! Weren't those the days. Anway... I have started a new project that I am SO excited about!!! Fetching from knitty.com. I really loved the green they used and was thinking of doing something like that but I went to my LYS they didn't have what I envisioned. Oh! and by the way that was the most horribly confusing thing I have done in a while. Let alone the old ladies that were in there were not friendly or even helpful. Needless to say I walked out very disapointed and frusterated. I IM'd my knitting mentor and BFF Kara. I told her I was looking for yarn for this project and another that I have in mind for a Christmas present for someone special. I was all worked up when I looked at the pattern again and as Carlos Menica would say, "Duh da der!" I checked my pattern again. I really paid attention and then I realized that I was doing WAY TOO MUCH Math! Anyway... I won't get into the details but come to find out that there are TONS of fun yarns out there that I can use. HOWEVER... I allready had what I wanted in my stash! Kara gave me two gorgeous hanks of yarn for my B-day this past March. So I will be using my absolutely beautiful purple Casacade Heathers yarn (my all time FAV color) for Fetching! I started last night. I am so excited. I love working on DPN's and I LOVE the little cables! So much fun. Matt isn't a huge fan of the pattern, but then he's not a real fan of gloves period. Oooh! Epiphany (sp) I need some new gloves for going to BYU football games!!! Yeah! now I am on the hunt for something fun to wear to football games! Oh the joys of knitting.
