One down, One to go.
About 8 false starts happened this week. I had gotten as far as getting past the cable detail at the bottom of my glove when a little helper decided it was her turn. I had run upstairs to talk to the second counsler in our bishopric. I got released from my calling as a primary teacher. (That's something I will post about later.) Anway... In the mean time Ka'iwa was left in our room without anyone watch. I'm sure it only took a second and oops! All three needles were pulled out of my work and yarn was pulled and I had to start all over again. AHHH!!! I was so mad! Not only that but I was frusterated and kept restarting and getting messed up. Then my WONDERFUL HUBBY even offered to help me get started all over again. Mattt is so awesome! Well I finally got a good start and was able to run with it. I worked sporatically this week. A row here, a row there. This (above two pictures) is where I was when I picked up my gloves last night at about 11. I was bound and dertermined to finish. Well I atleast wanted to get the the main hand part done. Knitting the thumb was something that I was a little nervous about so I was going to wait until today so that I could call my BFF / Knitting Mentor Kara. So I knitted, and knitted and knitted.
I put in a waste yarn section so that I could pull it out later and make the thumb. I got to the top of my glove and used a Bind off that was new. (Not a huge fan) And then... I couldn't STOP! I decided I was going to tackle the thumb on my own! Kara is always cheering for me when I ask her for advice and wisdom. Her mantra to me is "you can do it". So I tackled it. I pulled out the waste yarn and had this huge hole in my knitting. SCAREY!!! It took a couple of attempts to really get the hang of it and make it look good and here is the final product! I am so loving it! Now I have to cast on for the right side. Oh boy! Plus I have four secret projects I am working on for christmas. Am I crazy or what?

Ah hem!
I have an announcement!
KEKOA HAS LOST THIS FIRST TOOTH!! The lower right to be exact!
(I have a picture of his toothless mouth... I just have to change the batteries on my camera so those are to come.) It started to get wiggley on Monday when we were eating Corn on the Cob at his Tutu Heather's house. I think the Tooth Fairy even came to visit him. ;) Anway... my little boy is not so little now. He starts FIRST grade this year! Hooray for all-day school! Personally I think half day Kindergarden is a bunch of baloney! But oh well. We are over that hurdle and on to all day! YEAH!!! Anyway... that's the update on Kekoa. Now... FETCHING!

The Unveilingof my FO
FO for those of you 'knot' in the know is Finished Object! Actually it's not the first, I made a kerchief a while ago, but I can't find the pictures of it. Anway... this is the first thing that I have been able to start and finish recently. I have a couple of other projects on the kneedles right now, but I don't know if I'll ever see them come to fruition. By the way, isn't my little model so CUTE!!
My brother, Tau and I were in Hawaii this past March and while we were there I was working on another project. I was sitting on the floor concentrated on the stupid pattern when my brother popped his head in and and when he saw what I was doing couldn't help but laughing. He busted out with, "what?!? Are you knitting??" And now one of my dearest friends from High School says that I am too cool to knit and own a mini-van. Maybe I'll just have to get rid of the van. Nah! I like both too much. So Sarah and Tau you are stuck with me knitting! Kara, I hope you are proud. I am getting it. I finally am!
